The Best Film and TV of 2006

The best thing about ending the year is the excuse to make lists of favourite things and so release the Julie Andrews in us all. Here are my lists of the best film and television of the past year (where release date may correspond to the DVD).

Best films (in no particular order):

The big, fat so what award: The Departed, Superman Returns, Brokeback Mountain

3. Arrested Development

5. Harry Hill's TV Burp
6. Channel Four documentary on the old people's choir, the title of which escapes me.
7. When the Levees Broke
8. The Wire
9. My Name is Earl
